Bradley Medical Center leaves UnitedHealthcare’s network as of Aug. 1
Despite our repeated efforts to compromise, we were unable to renew our contract with Bradley Medical Center in Tennessee. As a result, Bradley Medical Center’s hospitals and physicians are now out of network for the following plans, as of Aug. 1, 2025:
- UnitedHealthcare employer sponsored commercial plans
- UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans, including Group Retiree
- IFP
Our goal has always been to reach an agreement that is affordable for Tennessee families and employers while avoiding any disruption to care for the people we serve. We exchanged numerous proposals over the past few weeks and remained at the negotiating table in an effort to reach an agreement. Each of our proposals included rates that would have allowed Bradley Medical Center to be reimbursed at more than fair and reasonable rates.
It remains our top priority to reach an agreement that is affordable and restores network access to Bradley Medical Center. However, our focus at this time is providing the people we serve with access to the care they need through either continuity of care or a smooth transition to a new provider, as appropriate.

We hope Bradley Medical Center shares our commitment and urgency to reach an agreement Tennessee families can afford.
We know the care Bradley Medical Center provides to our members is not only important but also personal to our members. We also understand how disruptive it can be for our members and their families when a hospital or physician no longer participates in our network. We are fortunate to have a broad network of hospitals and physicians throughout Tennessee that are readily able to provide high-quality care that meets the needs of our members.
Our members can choose from thousands of physicians and specialists as well as numerous hospitals throughout the state, including but not limited to the following:
- Erlanger East Campus
- Erlanger North
- BEH Erlanger
- Cleveland Medical Associates
- Erlanger Health
- Summit Medical Group
UnitedHealthcare members who need assistance finding alternative in-network hospitals or physicians in their area should call the number on their health plan ID card. Members can also use the provider directory on our member website to search for alternative hospitals and doctors.
If one of our members was in the middle of treatment at a Bradley Medical Center facility or with a Bradley Medical Center physician when they went out of network, they may qualify for continuity of care. Continuity of care provides continued in-network benefits for a specified period of time after a hospital or physician leaves our network. A few examples of patients who may qualify include:
- Women who are pregnant.
- Patients with newly diagnosed or relapsed cancer, or those currently in active cancer treatment.
Members who have questions about continuity of care, whether they might be eligible or need assistance applying should call the number on their health plan ID card.
UnitedHealthcare members should always go to the nearest hospital in the event of an emergency. Their services will be covered at the in-network benefit level, regardless of whether the hospital participates in UnitedHealthcare’s network.
