Information for those impacted by the California wildfires
For members who have insurance through their employer, live in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties, and were impacted by the wildfire, read on for details about using your plan benefits during this time.
We’re here to help you access the health care you need. If you need help with finding available doctors, refilling prescription drugs, or have other questions, call the number on your member ID card.
Out-of-network care options
- If you have a health emergency, you can visit any doctor or hospital, even if they’re not in your plan’s network, and we’ll pay the claim. There’s no need to call or notify your insurance.
- For non-emergency health care needs, if you are displaced or your provider is unable to see you in a timely manner, you can seek or access care from an out-of-network provider. Call the number on your member ID card if you need help finding care in your health plan’s network.
Prescription information
If you have prescription coverage, you may refill prescriptions early. This includes prescriptions that may have been lost, damaged or destroyed during the disaster. If necessary, prescribed medicines are available at an out-of-network pharmacy.
Prior authorization
If you have a prior authorization for a procedure, it will remain active to allow you more time to get the care you need.
Durable medical equipment
We can help you replace medical equipment that was lost or damaged.
