UnitedHealthcare and the University of Florida Health reach agreement; becomes effective May 5
UnitedHealthcare and the University of Florida Health (UF Health) have finalized a new multi-year contract that will restore network access to the health system, effective May 5, 2025. People enrolled in the following plans will have network access to UF Health’s hospitals, facilities and physicians, beginning May 5:
- UnitedHealthcare employer-sponsored commercial plans
- UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Florida (Medicaid)
This agreement also restores network access to UF Health St. Johns – Flagler Hospital, facilities and physicians for people enrolled in UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans, including Dual Special Needs Plans (DSNP).
As a reminder, all other UF Health hospitals and physicians throughout the state continue to participate in our Medicare Advantage network, including but not limited to: UF Health Gainesville, Jacksonville, Leesburg or UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital.
We appreciate your patience throughout the past several months. It was always our top priority to reach an agreement that was affordable and sustainable for Florida families and employers, and this agreement helps accomplish that goal.
If you have any questions or need assistance finding a provider, we encourage you to call the number on your health plan ID card.
