Hi, this is Crystal from UnitedHealthcare. I am calling to remind you tomorrow is your appointment for your mammogram.

My true satisfaction is getting the member to get preventive health services. Mammography is my favorite. That is the most meaningful to me.

Both my grandmothers were diagnosed with breast cancer at a late stage. My maternal grandmother, I call her my Nana, she never had mammograms. I think part of it was fear. Maybe they would have lived to be 100, but these women were sharp, just full of life, and that the breast cancer, that's what did it. That's why preventive health care and screenings are important to me, because it could have been different.
[CRYSTAL GETTING INTO HER CAR AND DRIVING]
No one likes a mammogram. No one is going to say, oh, I can't wait to have my mammogram. I'm going to have it. No one. But it's important to know where to go and not be afraid.
[CRYSTAL SETTING UP A TABLE AT A UNITEDHEALTHCARE MOBILE SCREENING EVENT]
So my job is to assist providers and to help get members care.
[CRYSTAL SPEAKING TO A VIRTUAL HEALTH PARTNER]
One of my providers, they rolled out a mobile van. And this year, we did 28 breast cancer screening events.

You can't discount outreach.

Sometimes I've talked to women two or three times, and they know. They're like, you called me last year. And then finally, they'll come around.

They’ll say, I'm going to do this. I'm going to do this this time.
[CRYSTAL TALKING TO A WOMAN AT THE EVENT]
FEMALE: I have three sisters that have breast cancer. I'm blessed that you was able to contact me and I was able to come here and get this done.
CRYSTAL BROWN: Oh, good.

I love these events. I love doing it.

And it's going to help providers, and it's going to help the members. So it is a win-win for everyone.
