UHC Store: A new way to personalize health and wellness offerings

No two employees are the same and their health and wellness needs and preferences may often be just as diverse. Empowering people with the ability to choose to supplement their employer benefits with health and wellness resources and offerings at any time may help support their individual health and wellness needs and create a more personalized health care experience
Some employers may find it challenging to offer the right support that fits the needs of all employees, who increasingly come from a variety of generations and backgrounds.
To help bridge this gap, UnitedHealthcare is launching the UHC Store, a new digital shopping experience for eligible members to choose from and purchase a variety of discounted health and wellness offerings that are meaningful to them. The offerings in UHC Store can be purchased to complement their employer-sponsored health benefits throughout the year.
UHC Store is designed to help give members a new level of choice and the ability to save more money with up to 15% discounts off retail prices.
UHC Store is now available within the UnitedHealthcare app and on myuhc.com®.
“At UnitedHealthcare, we’re focused on creating the opportunity to provide additional value to our members by helping them shop for offerings we’ve negotiated at a discount on their behalf,” said Amy Jordan, vice president of consumer digital engagement for UnitedHealthcare’s commercial business. “In the end, our consumer experience evolution has really been about creating more choice and value for our members, but also for employers.”
UHC Store may also help employers looking to expand their offerings without the administrative burden to procure and contract individually with multiple vendors who may not meet the needs of each member — and in turn, potentially save on administrative costs.
Currently, UHC Store will include offerings for:
- Everyday health — resources and support for women’s health, mental health and more
- Family wellness — resources and support for family planning, caregiving, pregnancy and postpartum support
- Fitness and nutrition — resources and support for weight management, nutrition and fitness
- Health coordination — resources and support for chronic conditions, such as autoimmune, diabetes, musculoskeletal and more
When companies offer health and wellness offerings that may reflect the unique needs of their employees, it shows a commitment to bettering their workforce’s overall well-being. This, in turn, may help retain talent, create company loyalty and recruit new employees.
